New York
New York is arguably the most vibrant and exciting city in the world, leaving visitors wondering where to start! With good forward planning it is possible to take a sizeable bite out of the "Big Apple", and digest a good deal of this heady multi-racial, ethnic and cultural cocktail.
A centre for learning and the arts, New York boasts some of the world's best museums and art galleries, plus 42,000 Broadway theatre seats! The Manhattan district consists of several distinctly different areas, each with its own appeal. From South to North:
Down Town - Soak in the atmosphere of America's financial Nerve Centre, with a walk through the heart of the financial district - Wall Street.
Suggested visits: New York Stock Exchange, Statue of Liberty and Soho.
Midtown - Noted for its famous buildings, and even more famous shops!
Suggested visits: The Rockefeller Centre, Broadway and Times Square, The Empire State Building and the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA).
Upper East Side - Between Central Park and the East River, this is the fashionable area of the exclusive boutiques of Madison Avenue and many famous art museums including: The Whitney Museum of American Art and the Guggenheim art gallery.
Upper West Side - On the west side of Central Park are the cities Concert Halls including the Avery Fisher Hall, the New York State Theatre, and the Metropolitan Opera House.
Groups staying in Downtown Manhattan do so on a bed and breakfast basis.
Groups staying in nearby New Jersey do so on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
San Francisco...
Built on a series of hills that offer memorable views, San Francisco is a unique and breathtaking City. Visitors have an extensive choice of excursions including the downtown 'tourist centre' Union Square, Chinatown, the Golden Gate Bridge and the popular Fisherman's Wharf. Besides featuring renowned museums and art galleries, there are also a variety of restaurants and shops that reflect the City's great ethnic and cultural diversity. The city is easily accessible by foot, but there is a good transport system if you wish to travel further afield. Take a cable car ride to trendy Ghirardelli Square, eat in Chinatown or Italian North Beach but, don't miss the shops in Victoria Union Street! Or if you wish to take it easy, relax in one of the parks either side of the Golden Gate and admire the view from Twin Peaks.
Suggested visits: Alcatraz Island - The Rock, Angel Island State Park,California Academy of Sciences, Golden Gate Park, Japanese Tea Garden and Coit Tower.
Boston...
Boston is a place which blends old-world charm with that of a modern city.
Its historic sights are easily accessible by foot. Take a stroll along the "Freedom Trail" or browse around the famous "Quincy Market" with its immense range of food outlets alongside the more contemporary trendy espresso joints. Boston is truly a city that offers something for everyone. Worth a visit is Beacon Hill Boston's most affluent neighbourhood and the North End area, Boston's oldest neighbourhood, which is crammed with cafes, delicatessen and Italian restaurants.
Suggested visits: Charlestown, North End, Faneuil Hall and the college town of Cambridge just across the Charles River from Boston.
Denver...
Today Denver is one of America's fastest growing cities. The Mile High City is the gateway to the Rockies, filled with History, culture, entertainment and shopping. Amongst the many attractions is the Red Rocks ampitheatre.
Los Angeles...

Factory store outlets are easily accessible from all our New England resorts on either your extra non-ski day or en-route to the airport - supplement payable. The outlet centres offer bargain shopping at prices up to 70% of UK retail prices and feature famous brand names like Levi's, Timberland, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Nike - they even have a Samsonite shop if you run out of luggage space! This is a fabulous finale to your ski tour and will have parents and students writing their shopping list well in advance!
