As the old adage goes, when choosing a restaurant, find out where the locals eat and you can't go far wrong in applying the same principle to finding a great ski resort. Sierra offers outstanding value for money and it's the most popular resort with local skiers.
On The Slopes
Sierra-at-Tahoe, only 25 minutes from our accommodation in South Lake Tahoe, offers over 2000 acres of fantastic ski terrain and enjoys nearly 40ft of natural Sierra Nevada powder each year. The ski school is very good and the safety record on the mountain is excellent making it a great choice for school groups. Advanced skiers will also find a wealth of challenging black runs over in the West Bowl.
Off The Slopes
Our accommodation is in South Lake Tahoe, where the glamour of the Nevada casinos is a unique feature of the après-ski scene. The casinos offer various attractions, which are (surprisingly) very suitable for school groups, including a multi screen cinema complex, video amusement arcades, a brand new ice skating rink, Ten-pin bowling and the Hard Rock Café, as well as numerous shops and outlet malls within easy reach of our hotels.
There are also day trips to Virginia City and Carson City.
