The Europa-Sport region is located by the beautiful lakeside town of Zell am See and provides challenging and enjoyable skiing for skiers of all levels including groomed trails and powder runs, whilst the glacier ski area at Kaprun extends to 3,029m above sea level, offering views across Tyrol and Salzburg province.
On the slopes
Zell am See offers a wide range of skiing suitable for all standards and benefits from an excellent interconnecting lift system. Beginners normally commence on the gentle nursery slopes in Schüttdorf, where there are also a host of blue and red runs. Once up at the top of the mountain the resort opens up with more blue runs, whilst intermediates can try a host of challenging red runs to the north of the town and more advanced skiers can link in to exciting black runs with breathtaking views of the resort and lake. Kaprun, the glacier resort, is just 20 minutes away and offers a further 55km of skiing as well as stunning views across the region. Adventurous skiers can test their skills on challenging World Cup Downhill courses, in particular the 4km Trass run down to Breiteckalm.
Off the slopes
Zell am See has an excellent sports centre with an indoor fun pool, bowling and an indoor ice rink where you can skate or watch the local Major League hockey team in action. Groups can also visit the local ‘Konditoreis’ for delicious hot chocolate and cakes!
