Culturally Switzerland reflects its neighbours, Italy, France and Germany. All three languages are spoken, whilst the food and music also exhibit these influences. Outside the dynamic and modern cities a rural lifestyle pervades and much of Switzerland is agricultural, hence dairy products are a staple of many Swiss dishes, whilst the traditional alphorns, accordion music and yodeling can also be found in many villages and towns.
Switzerland is renowned world-wide as being an exclusive place to ski. Our resorts are high-altitude with expansive skiing, and their names command respect – for example, our Jungfrau school groups ski at Wengen, a regular and much-loved stop on the World Cup circuit.
