Situated atop the second tallest mountain range in Europe, Sierra Nevada is an internationally-acclaimed ski resort boasting over 100km of skiing, a great snow record, superb facilities and spectacular views across southern Spain, the Mediterranean Sea and to Africa.

On the slopes

With a long season running from early December until early May, Sierra Nevada’s altitude belies its southern location – the resort has a fantastic snow record yet enjoys plenty of Mediterranean sunshine. Our groups begin by taking a lift to the midway station of Borreguiles – at an altitude of 2,600m this is the centre of the ski resort and features restaurants, ski hire facilities, lockers, shops, ski-schools and a medical centre. Outside the main complex building sits the beginner area. Nursery slopes are served by covered moving carpets to provide protection from the abundant snowfall, whilst a network of lifts offers good links to the whole resort. A wide choice of blue runs link the summit at Veleta back through Borreguiles and down to the base village of Pradollano, whilst intermediate and advanced skiers can take a similar route on a choice of red and black runs or explore the Laguna de las Yeguas area, an extensive network of red runs. The snowpark, easily accessible from Borreguiles or Pradollano, features an array of FIS standard facilities installed for the 2012 World Junior Snowboard Championships.

Off the slopes

Groups can enjoy Mirlo Blanco, an outdoor activity park including an ice-rink, bob-sleigh ride, ski-bikes and ski-chairs. A swimming pool and spa complex can be found in Pragellano, whilst the hostel runs its own evening entertainments programme for your group. Groups spend their final night in nearby Granada: after dinner in your accommodation, watch sunset over the famed Alhambra, take a guided walk through the narrow alleys of the Albaicin and enjoy a Flamenco show.
