- Charming Italian Resort
- Plenty of après ski activities
Santa Caterina is a beautiful friendly village in the Valfurva Valley 10km above Bormio. This resort has north facing slopes so it holds its snow very well. Santa Caterina's skiing covers over 1000 vertical metres descending from the Mount Sobretta slopes at an altitude of 2800 metres to 1738 metres right in the centre of the town. The resort has 40 kilometres (25 miles) of slopes suitable for all ability levels. There are two blue, twelve red and two black runs. The latter offers 5km of terrain - a much higher percentage than at most ski areas and reflecting Santa Caterina's heritage in ski racing. The famous Deborah Compagnoni has trained here and that the World Cup women's downhill has also been held at Santa Caterina.
The resort itself is quiet and strong on scenery. This rustic charming Italian ski resort is fantastic for school groups.
