In a sunny plateau above the Trentino valley, Folgaria is a well established resort and an ideal location for school groups. The centre of the traditional village is pedestrianised and very attractive with good shopping and plenty of lively bars. The ski area is quite extensive offering a good range for all abilities. Novices will, by the end of their first week, be travelling around the mountains with confidence.
On the slopes
Folgaria is located in the Trentino Dolomites, on a plateau above the ancient towns of Rovereto and Trento. The resort combines the ski areas of numerous smaller villages including the Costa, Fondo Grande and Serrada ski regions. It’s a bustling venue, with a truly Italian atmosphere. Folgaria’s ski area offers skiing for all levels and locally covers over 100km of piste. Most of the skiing s through tree-lined pistes on well-maintained slopes, many of which are snow cannon protected. The recently constructed lifts at Fiorentini provide a perfect link with the rest of Folgaria. Beginner groups will quickly progress from the gentle nursery slopes to some of the more difficult runs which weave their way through trees around the resorts of Costa and Folgaria. Intermediates and advanced skiers are assured of a tremendous choice as the lift-pass covers over 100km of pistes with lifts from Folgaria connecting to neighbouring areas Francolini, Fondo Piccolo and Passo Coe rising to a height of 2,060m. Skiing at Lavarone and Forte Cherle is possible on the same lift pass and these resorts are only a short coach ride away.
Off the slopes
Folgaria and the surrounding villages have many après-ski activities including indoor ice-skating, bowling, and swimming, a visit to a local pizzeria or the cinema.
