A compact and attractive resort featuring slopeside accommodation serving hot lunches and plenty of evening activities. Based in the Southern Alps Les Orres is less crowded than other French resorts and enjoys a sunny climate thanks to the nearby Mediterranean. A good all-round choice for schools.
On the slopes
Wide, gentle slopes above the village provide the setting for beginners to start learning the basics, and there’s a good variety of easy pistes, green and blue for them to enjoy on the sunny hillside. Intermediates will enjoy extensive red runs through a range of terrains, from winding descents through the tree to stunning high level skiing from Grand Vallon and Petit Vallon, at 2,600m. The Grand Cabane runs through the forests and ends up back at the resort after 6km, making it one of the longest pistes in the Southern Alps! Experienced skiers will enjoy the challenge of three black pistes - including one whose difficulty can be judged by its name... L’Horrible! There is also a snowboard park with good facilities.
Off the slopes
Shops, cafés and discos are all in good supply, there is also a bowling alley and a cinema in the resort - plus a new 650m² ice-skating rink! Les Orres has all the facilities your group needs for an excellent all-round ski holiday experience.
