Safety for Schools

Your safety is of paramount importance to us and we strive to set and maintain the highest possible standards in this area.

As the person responsible for the well-being and safety of a group of school children during their tour, you, the party leader, have to feel completely confident that the operator with whom you are dealing shares your sense of responsibility and strives to set and maintain the highest possible standards.

Our Coaches

SkiPlan use a core of selected British coach operators - all of which are well established and reliable companies. Audits are completed for all our selected coach companies to ensure that suitable servicing is regularly carried out and proper documentation is maintained. Seat belts will be available for all pupils on British coaches (this does not necessarily apply to foreign coaches). Our coach operators undertake that their drivers will give SkiPlan groups a brief talk on safety on board the vehicle before departure from school.

Accommodation

SkiPlan have undertaken to carry out a SMS Accommodation Audit on all of the properties featured in this website. This is a thorough audit covering essential areas of security, hygiene and fire safety. The frequency and detail of the audits is defined in our Safety Management System. Copies of these audits are available on request.

Group Inspection Visits

Group inspection visits accompanied by SkiPlan staff are organised annually to a variety of destinations. Visits include viewing the accommodation we use and sampling the après-ski activities available, and also provide the opportunity to discuss any aspects of your tour with SkiPlan staff. For tour destinations not covered by group inspection visits, SkiPlan may offer group leaders (with a confirmed booking) the opportunity to visit their selected destination. For European visits SkiPlan provide one night bed and breakfast for two people sharing a twin room. For North America see USA/Canada travel info page.

Emergency Procedures

In all our resorts we have an infrastructure of support staff (with area managers in our European resorts) to offer help and assistance if required. SkiPlan also provides party leaders with a 24 hour emergency contact number to be used when groups are on tour. To ensure that we deal with any possible incident in the most efficient and professional manner possible, we have formalised our emergency procedures into a manual which clearly sets out all actions to be taken in the event of a serious incident.

Safety Management System

At SkiPlan we attach the utmost importance to all possible aspects of safety on our tours. Schools booking a tour from this brochure will benefit from our Safety Management System designed to make your tour as safe as possible.
