On The Slopes
At this altitude, snow is virtually guaranteed and with a vertical drop of 1800m the resort enjoys some of the best skiing in the Alps on over 100km of piste.
SkiPlan groups benefit from the area lift pass covering all 22 lifts and 34 pistes shown on the piste map.
The area has excellent skiing for beginners with large nursery slopes at the edge of the village of Saas Grund and Saas Fee. The Maste 4' blue slopes are wide and sunny and there is some great cruising above the Langfluh.
With lots of wide open well groomed pistes, the Saas valley is a paradise for intermediates. Groups have a variety of exciting red runs in Saas Grund itself including the challenging 4km Gletscherpiste. In Saas Fee, the Felskinn (2974m) is a popular piste on which to improve those turns, whilst the Langfluh and Plattjen areas are better suited to those who like a steeper gradient.
For the advanced skier there are a number of good short black runs in both Saas Grund and Saas Fee. The top of the Felskinn offers some excellent powder skiing and steep and heavily mogulled runs.
Saas Fee is regularly featured in snowboard magazines in the UK and has hosted the Vans Triple Crown Event. Boarders of all levels are well catered for on piste, off-piste and in the park.
Off The Slopes
The picturesque traffic-free villages in the Saas valley still retain their original Valaisian farming feel whilst also housing a variety of designer ski shops, bars and cafes. The resort has a sports centre complete with a swimming pool, indoor tennis and badminton courts. Groups might also visit the ice rink, cinema, village museum and ice grotto.
