Purpose-built for ease of use, the main features of this
popular circuit are convenience, value and unexpectedly high mileage. Over the past few seasons there has been
remarkable improvement in the lift system due to investment in, snow-making equipment and re-shaping the pistes. Two
new blue runs have been added vastly improving the links to Artesina, this means that all standards can enjoy the whole
circuit. There are two separate resorts linked by lift and piste, Prato Nevoso is really exceptional for beginners; whereas
Artesina, with its long intermediate runs, is good for enthusiastic piste-bashers.

On The Slopes
Piste maintenance is particulary good and there has been a lot of investment in recent years. Many of the runs are on wide-open snowfields so visibility is good and supervision is easy.
Moving carpet lifts have been installed especially for beginners - ideal for the first-timers. There is one outside the Hotel Galassia and two in the lower village. These allow novices to practise
on gentle slopes in safety without having to manage conventional lifts.
There are plenty of wide, long runs
which invite ambitious intermediates to work hard and get off that plateau! The pistes link well and
there is plenty of skiing both above and below the tree line. For strong intermediates, there are some tremendous reds, especially over on the
Artesina side.
Prato is also the home of the Italian Snowboard Club and top competitions are held here at the recently enlarged
floodlit Snowpark. The snowboard park is rated one of the best in Italy.
Off The Slopes
Prato Nevoso is well developed and has a friendly atmosphere. There's something of a local community and a gallery of
shops, bars and restaurants. Evening activities include ice skating, floodlit night skiing, karaoke and swimming (pool in hotel). Floodlit board park
together some pistes three times weekly.
