On The Slopes
Northstar has 5 very distinct ski areas: "The Village" - with its perfect green runs and magic carpets, beginners are very well catered for. Moving up the mountain from here is Schaffers Camp – a great area for lower intermediates to progress onto with long, wide blue cruisers and with over 50% of the trails at Northstar aimed at intermediates it's a great resort for progression.
The 3rd ski area is Mt Pluto - known for its abundance of groomed runs, moderate pitch and fabulous views of Lake Tahoe. For advanced skiers and riders, the areas to head for are The Backside and Lookout Mountain – Northstar's best kept secrets with steep inclines, tree-skiing, bump runs and acres of groomed powder. Snowboarders will adore Northstar with several terrain parks, a 420 ft superpipe and "The Stash", a freestyle and freeride terrain run combining part-riding with a back country feel.

Activities include outdoor ice skating, Olympic Ice Pavilion at Squaw Valley (8200ft), snow tubing,
bowling at Kings Beach, pizza party, cinema, Casion teen arcades, wild west towns of Virginia City and Carson City, historic Truckee for shopping & cultural heritage and Folsom Factory outlets.
