On The Slopes
There are two main areas to the Kitzbühel ski circus, the Kitzbüheler Horn, which is best for beginners and intermediates, and the Hahnenkamm, renowned for the World Cup Downhill, which caters for all abilities. The circus offers an extensive and well-prepared ski area with 54 lifts and access to 145km of prepared pistes.
Depending on your accommodation, beginners will use the nursery area in Aschau, Pass Thurn or the Horn from where they will quickly progress to the higher slopes.
The Hahnenkamm offers a wide range of red runs. Intermediate skiers should follow the Ski Safari from here to Pass Thurn, covering nearly 35km of downhill skiing without using the same lift twice: an ideal way to get to know the entire area.
Mogul skiers will have a great time on the pistes of the Steinbergkogel, Fleckhochalm and Raintal. Those who like a challenge will enjoy the new "Direttissima" trail (nr 38) that follows the tree line from the Steinbergkogel down to Ehrenbachgraben. Number 19 on the Hahnenkamm is known as the "Carver's Paradise".
The Snowboard Eldorado on the Kitzbüheler Horn has a Pro Jump, Quarterpipe and Slalom Sprint Course and a permanent Boarder-X course. A 60 metre halfpipe completes the excellent range for snowboarders. On the Hahnenkamm, the 55 marked trails around the "Streif" course offer exciting alternatives.
Off The Slopes
Kitzbühel is an excellent place for après-ski, with an endless variety of activities on offer. Entrance to the Aquarena swimming pool is included with your lift pass. Other activities include ice skating, bowling and curling.
The centre of Kitzbühel is well worth a visit, with its cobbled streets and beautiful shops. In addition there is a wide variety of bars, cafés and discos.
