Heavenly offers a huge variety of skiing possibilities which stretches over
4,800 acres of terrain extending over the two states of Nevada and California. Located around five hours drive North of San Francisco and just
a gondola ride away from the heart of South Lake Tahoe, Heavenly's ski area offers limitless skiing and boarding possibilities for all abilities. With
spectacular scenery, an average of 31ft of snow fall each season combined with the famous Californian sunshine and a vast ski circuit, Heavenly really
is perfect for school groups.
On The Slopes
Heavenly is the only major bi-state ski resort in the United States and the range of skiing is extensive. The modern and comprehensive lift system
comprises of 29 lifts (17 lifts in California and 12 lifts in Nevada) which can deal with 29,000 skiers per hour making queuing virtually unknown.
Beginners can start on the well groomed nursery slopes then enjoy the excellent green runs such as 'Mombo Meadows' or 'Maggies' on the California
side.
Intermediates will be in their element with a superb selection of blue runs
on both sides of the state line. There are runs such as the famous
'Gunbarrel' for the more adventurous or the wide, long and well-groomed
'Ridge Run'.
For the advanced skier the Heavenly area has some of the most testing mogul
runs, lots of blacks and off-piste skiing opportunities are available. Head
to the Milkyway bowl where you will find two testing double black diamond
runs.
With the whole of the mountain open to boarders and a dedicated area on the
Nevada side Heavenly appeals to the snowboarder as much as the skier.
Off The Slopes
Heavenly's entertainment selection is good and exciting with the chance to visit the famous Planet Hollywood or an historic excursion to Carson or Virginia city. Not forgetting activities such as ice-skating, bowling, and sleigh rides, to mention just a few. A trip across the lake on the Paddle steamer is not to be missed.
