Set in a sunny bowl in the Lombardy mountains, the medieval spa town of Bormio is frequently voted the most beautiful ski resort in the world. As the host to the 2005 World Championships and with well maintained pistes for all abilities, the skiing is some of the best in Italy. Full of character and charm, the cobbled streets of the town centre are lined with stylish shops, bars and restaurants.
Bormio is the place for SkiPlan groups seeking a complete winter experience rich in the Dolce Vita.

On The Slopes
Bormio is a resort for the discerning skier who enjoys interesting and varied tree lined runs.
Beginners start at the first stage of the eight man Bormio 2000 gondola. Progression with the local ski school will soon allow transfer to the Ciuk chair with a lovely long blue run back through the trees to the village.
Intermediate skiers will enjoy the fast 6 man gondola lift up to Ciuk at 1600 m which links with both the La Rocca chair and the Valbella chair which open up a good selection of wooded runs and snowsure pistes.
Advanced skiers will take the cable car up to 3010 m to Cima Bianca and enjoy some excellent powder and steep descents... the black runs beneath the Cimino lift are not for the faint hearted! For both intermediate and advanced skiers there are more slopes to be discovered at San Colombano which is just a short (free) ski bus ride to Le Motte.
Santa Caterina is a 20 minutes bus ride away and offers long runs and exciting terrain or should you wish to take a day trip then there are two perfect options: duty free Livigno with high altitude skiing and low prices or St Moritz in Switzerland for the 'glitz and glamour'.
Off The Slopes
The village of Bormio is typical of a small medieval town with narrow cobbled streets, music, markets and a lovely array of shops.
The aprés ski starts at the foot of the slopes in the piste side cafès and evening activities include swimming and bowling.
