On The Slopes
A brief glance at the stats may lead newcomers to mistakenly think that Arcalís is an unassuming resort tucked away in the Andorran hinterland.
Nothing could be further from the truth - although in some ways we would like to keep this a secret for as long as possible. Arcalís probably offers the best, snow-sure skiing in Andorra, often on fresh powder, with a selection of long, crowd-free blues and reds that are ideal for beginners and intermediates alike.
The main ski circuit of Arcalís forms a horseshoe across two adjacent valleys with the nursery slopes and ski school located close to the main ski lodge.
Three drag lifts offer beginners a safe introduction to two blue runs before progressing to the more challenging selection of extended blues and reds - which is where Arcalís really comes into its own.
For the adventurous, there are also two good black runs with a mogul field that lead back to the base station.
Off The Slopes
This is a quiet resort that is great for school groups. There are several bars and restaurants in the town should you wish to venture out in the evenings. Groups can take advantage of the facilities at the nearby Ordino Sports Centre which include bowling and swimming. Further afield it is possible to arrange a pizza night in La Massana which is just 20 minutes away or ice skating and swimming at the Ice Palace in Canillo which is 45 minutes away.
