Alpe d'huez ski resort in France

French flag
Alpe d'Huez

Alpe d'Huez, one of France's top five ski resorts, lies high in the Grandes Rousses mountain range on a sunny plateau. The extensive and varied skiing, excellent snow record, spectacular panoramas and the proximity of our ClubHotel Beausoleil to the slopes make this resort a sought after favourite for mixed ability groups.

Choose this resort for:

  • High level skiing with five interconnected villages on one ski pass.
  • Doorstep skiing from our hotel - situated directly on the piste.
  • Short coach transfers from your arrival airport.
  • Slopes for all abilities, vast scope for beginners and intermediates.

This lift system is one of the most up-to-date in Europe and was complemented by the opening of the new 'Marmottes III' which has a capacity to provide a further 1,000 skiers per hour access to the glacier.

The principal mountain access is still the DMC high speed gondola which departs from within 100m of our hotel.

On The Slopes

There is an extensive range of slopes for beginners, with first rate progression. In addition to the numerous confidence-building long easy runs there is also a separate patrolled nursery area served by 5 lifts.

It would be difficult to better this resort for intermediates, with ample challenging runs designed to keep the most adventurous skier fully occupied throughout the week. Pistes such as l'Olympique and Le Couloir are amongst the most exhilarating choices for keen skiers. There are many exciting runs for advanced skiers. The 16km 'Sarenne' is the longest black run in the World, starting from the summit of the Pic Blanc lift at 3330 metres. The Château Noir starts from the same point and connects back to the Sarenne lower down the mountain, whilst Le Tunnel is a testing mogul field which cuts right through the mountain itself.

Alpe d'huez ski resort in FranceAlpe d'Huez has its own snowboard park with wide smooth pistes for beginners. Boarders will also find lots of challenges on the resort's range of red and blue runs, not forgetting the half pipe for those big air jumps.

Off The Slopes

There is a heated outdoor and indoor swimming pool, bungee trampolining, night skiing, an extensive sports centre and an ice skating rink. In addition there are plenty of shops, cafés, bars and discos within easy reach of our hotel and apartment accommodation.
